Hardware Store

Well… I’ve never really kept track of how many shovels/snow blowers we’ve sold but obviously the past couple weeks has to be some kind of record. Based on the numbers I heard, we had to somewhere in the range of 2000 shovels sold. Now the way I figure is this. There are like 60,000 people in Loveland. If you figure there are on average 3 people per home Loveland (which may be way off but I figured it sounded good), that would mean there 20,000 homes. If we sold 2,000 shovels, that means we outfitted 10% of Loveland with a new shovel in the last couple weeks!

Oh yea, and that doesn’t even count the shovels we have sold the other 17 years we’ve been here. Thanks Loveland! I hope that everyone has a chance to visit the chiropractor after all of that dern shoveling.

Check this out. Ran into theis cool old picture that is supposed to be of Ferguson Hardware in Loveland. We always hear (or at least used to hear) that we were the best hardware store to come to Loveland since Ferguson’s was in town. Ferguson was long closed when I personally moved to Loveland but if this is actually Ferguson’s, it looks like a cool old hardware store. Anyway, thought you might find it interesting.

We are super late on getting this blog up but this weekend is an awesome sale for us. It is the Labor Day Sale which is really pretty cool, a lot of super cheap stuff with mail-in rebates. Not really sure how much I personally am into mail-in rebates but on some of these sales like this one, if you buy enough stuff, you can really save some money :-).

Anyway, acehardware.com has the circular you can view online so check it out by clicking here. Talk you soon.

We have a decent “Best Buys” sale for the entire month of July. It is on the Dollar Days theme meaning there is a bunch of stuf for a dollar (and 10/$10). Check out the flyer by following the following link to the ACE Hardware corporate website. Lots of cleaning supplies and cheap tools this time… Cheers!

Well, I’m not honestly sure I fully understand the choices made for items for the Father’s Day circular this year but here’s a link if you want to check it out.

I am sure exactly what Dad wants is a hose reel… well, maybe not. If it were me, I think I would go with the gift card option this year. :-)

Spreadstone, Spreadrock, and our other faux-stone products are the ticket! We just did a complete basement floor for a small fraction of the cost of tile that looks fantastic… very much looks and feels like true, heavy, EXPENSIVE slate tile. It actually looks as good as the pictures below, really! This stuff makes for a great project and a great finish when you finish. We just posted it on our paint page as well at www.orchardshardware.com/paint.htm. To learn more come down and talk to our resident Spreadstone expert Jared. He has used it extensively and can tell you all about it. Overall, I must rate it as HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

TOTALY BIASED! I have been out in Nebraska all week and have visited four ACE Hardwares while out here. Two “Westlake” ACE Hardwares and two “Q.P.” ACE Hardwares. I found them to be very nice stores, particulary compared to some others I have seen recently, but I still always like ours best. I really think ACE Hardwares everywhere are a step above the competition in terms of service, but we are two or three steps most of the time I think. We have things to work on and get better at but it makes me very proud of what we do when I visit these other stores. I just hope our customers feel the same way!

By the way, we just updated the website to remind everyone we are ready for summer. It is time to start painting, mowing, watering, etc. so please keep us in mind for your spring home improvements. We here to help, come down and see us! See you soon- Dan

Thanks Carmen G!!! We appreciate your business!

Yep, must be that time of year again because I just got the annoucement in the mail for the annual Bag Sale.  I think this is a fantastic time to catch up on those lingering projects you’ve been putting off and doing it for a 20% discount.  The deal is, anything you can fit in a regular brown paper sack is 20% of except guns, power tools, and small appliances which still get 10%.  I’m going to take advantage myself for sure… hope to see the rest of you all there!  Talk to you next time.
