Employees

We had an exciting weekend this past weekend. The big semi-annual ACE Hardware convention was this weekend and for the first time in several years it was in Denver. That means we had a chance to get a bunch of our employees down to the convention center to experience. I hadn’t been myself since I was a kid really so I enjoyed spending Friday afternoon and Saturday morning checking things out. Here is a cell phone pic of the “Welcome to Denver” sign in the airport for all the Acers flying in I saw in the airport Sunday night on my way out to Philadelphia:

ACE Airport Welcome

I would bet Clark will have a post on the show coming up too since he is really the head of operations when it comes to that sort of thing. But… speaking of interesting welcome signs, check out this one on one of Denver’s most famous strip clubs right across from the convention center! What kind of people do they think we Acers are exactly?

Anyway, good show, and we’ll have exciting new products and news to follow I’m sure.

Sorry folks, we didn’t get the website updated for new guns this week. Mikey and the boss went turkey huntin’ for the week. They did remember to call me on Monday to brag that they were turkey chasing while I have to work, but it somehow slipped their minds to get me a gun updated before they left. Guess we’ll be back with a new update next week. Come check with Mike this weekend or next week tho and ask him if Dan’s super duper turkey Benelli did him proud (that would be my 24″ camo Benelli Super Black Eagle that has managed to meet with a dozen or so turkey now… not to metion the geese, pheasants, quail, African guinea fowl, doves, grouse, and rattlesnakes). Whatta gun. We love ‘em cause wee shoot ‘em!!

Spreadstone, Spreadrock, and our other faux-stone products are the ticket! We just did a complete basement floor for a small fraction of the cost of tile that looks fantastic… very much looks and feels like true, heavy, EXPENSIVE slate tile. It actually looks as good as the pictures below, really! This stuff makes for a great project and a great finish when you finish. We just posted it on our paint page as well at www.orchardshardware.com/paint.htm. To learn more come down and talk to our resident Spreadstone expert Jared. He has used it extensively and can tell you all about it. Overall, I must rate it as HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

I just got back from the Shot Show in Vegas last week, if you ever have a chance to go and you have any interest in guns I highly recommend going. And Vegas, of course is always fun. All the big manufactors are there and everyone trying to get their product out there to be seen. I was very impressed with the new Taurus 1911. The price was right and its supposed to be out in the stores sometime in the 2nd quarter according to the reps. Benelli is going to do the M2’s in 20 gauge with the Comfort Tech stock so those will be good sellers and Franchi had some of their new Renaissance over and unders out. They are completely redoing there over and under line, so much so they arent in the new catalogs. Keep checking their website, Im sure they will be on there soon. S&W had many new additions to their M&P line, including AR-15’s. They have really pulled themselves out of the trouble they were in a few years ago and seem to be doing great. The Winchester booth was packed and everyone wanted to know what was going on. The reps didnt have alot to say, Im sure they would like to know as much as everyone what their fate is. Anyway, if you have any questions on what I may have seen in Vegas email me and I will be glad to help if i can.

Thanks

Mike

Well gun show fans… Mikey survived Vegas again this year (although we were wondering if he would or not on Saturday morning).  Haha, anyway lots of cool new stuff he says.  I went with him although I actually never made the show.  Anyway, great time again this year.  Go down and see Mike to hear about the new stuff and make sure to give him hell about his Vegas weaknesses.
