Where have the blogs been? Well, sorry, just got so darn busy in March that the entire month slipped by without a blog from me. Hope we didn’t break your heart by not having new blogs for you to read.

So why have we been so busy? Well, we have had so many new things going on in the past month I can hardly remember where to start. I’ll just go around the store starting in the paint department.

The big news there is our second line of paint, Benjamin Moore! We’ve had it in about three weeks now, so we’re still getting used to it, and still learning it nuances. One thing is for certain, we are hugely impressed with Benjamin Moore’s paint! We’ve sold our own Ace Paint for many years and it’s darn fine paint. But when we found out just how much time and effort Benjamin Moore has put in their paint, we all said wow! Yes, it’s truly premium paint, and yes it costs a little more, but it is well worth it. We’re still getting training, and still fine tuning our assortment, but we’re ready for your spring painting project!

Also in our paint department we’ve added Rustoleum Concrete Stain. This is our second line of concrete stain, as we also carry Mason’s Select from Superdeck. The nice thing about the Rustoleum Concrete Stain is that it comes in a kit form that has everything you need to get your project started, and then you can add extra gallons of stain if needed. They also have a great line of colors, and their kits are well priced.

Want to dress up your concrete without staining it? We’ve got that covered better than ever as well, with Rustoleum’s Epoxy Shield concrete paint. It’s a great line that we’ve carried for a couple of years, but we now have many more colors and their industrial strength version as well.

We’ve added Zar stains as well. Zar stains are amazing in the fact that they will work on your fiberglass door, vinyl trim even PVC plastics. Yes, with your creativity, you can make plastic pipe look like Birdseye maple. Of course Zar stains work very well for regular woods also.

Skimstone has gone through a change as well. We’ve brought in the new improved Skimstone, which is now made by Modern Masters, the leader in faux finishes, and specialty paints. Skimstone is a wonderful product that can be troweled on over concrete or countertops to give a hard, stone like finish in a huge variety of colors. You add the color, mix and match, trowel it to your liking and end up with a very thin concrete hard finish that adds a beautiful and unique look to your projects.

Well, I’ve covered the paint department, and this blog is getting long. Check out following blogs for new items around other parts of the store.
