Spring is bustin’ out all over! How do we know this? Two reasons: One is that I have weeds growing already from underneath all the snow that has almost finally melted in my yard. Weeds in February are a sure sign of spring; I don’t care what the groundhog says. But more importantly, the second reason is that we have our soils in stock again. Yes, you can’t miss them all along the front of our store. Top soil, Potting soil, Garden soil, manure, peat moss bark and bark mulch are all there again.
This does mean something else, however. We’re certainly due for another big snow storm. This again is a more accurate prediction than the old ground hog. I can’t think of a year that we haven’t got all our pallets of soil placed out front when they haven’t been buried by a large amount of snow. I know this has been the winter of winters. By my count we’ve had ten weeks straight of snow, not including the mountains, in Colorado this season. We were two weeks behind getting our soils in this year, just due to the snow. Still, I will predict that we’re in for a doozy of a spring snow this year.
Well, I could easily be wrong on this, but that’s the way it has worked so many years in the past. Still, spring is just around the corner, it’s in the air, and it’s only three weeks from now. The early time change this year will really make it feel like spring early. So start getting ready for all those outdoor projects you’ve had to put off since December. No need to feel cooped up, get out and enjoy the season, even if it means pulling those snow-fed weeds in your yard.
