Spring Cleaning Product Review
Posted by Dan under General
Well earlier this week, I went through two complete days of that springtime misery… spring cleaning. It sucked. However I am rather enjoying my clean office as I write this blog. There were a couple of items I picked up at the store I had never tried though that I was extremely happy with that I thought I would share.
1. Bona X Hardwood Floor Cleaning System - I was hesitant to go with the Bona X stuff to clean my hardwood floors because it was pretty expensive for the whole system. Well, I almost screwed up… it was very much worth it. I bought the kit (handle, pad, and cleaner) as well as the refinisher and the appropriate applicator for it. Probably $65 worth of stuff all said and done but after cleaning and applying the refinisher, my floor honestly looks like a new floor. If I had hired someone to do the cleaning, there is no chance it would be nicer than this and would have cost a couple hundred bucks. I highly recommend this stuff… highly recommend it.
2. CLR Kitchen and Bathroom Cleaner - This stuff is awesome for soap scum and hard water stains. I bought a bottle despite having a bottle of “The Works” already, which I have used a lot in the past. This CLR cleaner is the first thing that has worked as well as The Works but it doesn’t smell as harsh and doesn’t make my hands itch when I use it.
3. Black and Decker Scum Buster - I bought one of these about two years ago and had never used it until now. As expected, it was helpful on bathroom soap scum but the real ticket was carpet spot cleaning. I used the carpet shampoo that the unit came with in the box and was honestly shocked at how well I was able to get some spots out of my carpet. Again, if you hard cleaning to do, I highly recommend picking up one of these units (as well as an extra Versa Pack battery for it).
And let me just say that I totally feel for those of you who still have the spring cleaning job coming up.
