Metric crescent Wrench
Posted by Clark under General
You may have heard the old joke about sending someone to the hardware store to get a metric Crescent wrench. Well now if you try to pull that one on a friend, they’ll just come back to you with a metric Crescent wrench. Yes indeed we do now stock such an item.
Let’s back up to several blogs ago regarding Crescent wrenches. The brand Crescent has become synonymous with the adjustable wrench that we all know. To be fair, our new metric adjustable wrenches are not Crescent brand, they are made by Irwin.
What’s different about them? They have a new sliding design that clicks in to set sizes, in millimeter increments. They’re pretty slick actually. The clicking design holds the wrench in just the size you need while you’re working. My only gripe with adjustable wrenches is that they tend to work loose of the size you need while you’re working with them. This design eliminates that. They also have really nice rubberized-plastic grips on them. They’re a nice new tool and I can see a place for them in a well equipped toolbox.
So much for the old joke.
Oh, by the way, they do come in SAE inch sizes as well.
Stay tuned, maybe we’ll actually have metric hammers next!
