Krylon Fusion is a unique spray paint designed specifically to bond to plastics. It’s been out a couple of years now and has proven to be a great spray paint. It also works well with metals, woods, wickers, etc. A great paint that bonds extremely well.

I have found a new use for Krylon Fusion: Paint your vinyl siding. Now I’m not saying you’d want to paint your entire house with cans of spray paint. However, here’s what I did: I have vinyl siding trim on the eaves of my house. It’s great! Covered over my old, crappy looking wood eaves, and soffets real nicely. Only bad thing is that the color was wrong. (Guys, you know what I mean if your wife has ever picked a color for your house) So we’ll paint it, no big deal. Wrong! BIG pain. The problem is it’s corrugated, that is to say, to give the vinyl it’s strength, and a better look, there are 3″ or so wide “boards” separated by 3/4″ or so wide valleys. I had to paint some using bonding primer, then white satin paint, had to brush it. No way to roll it, and up against the brick, I didn’t want to spray it. Boy, I cannot say it was fun doing that at all, and it took forever.

So I got the idea to use Krlyon Fusion. Yes, it took a lot of cans, but it didn’t take a lot of time. I used satin white, and the color matched and looked just great. Best of all, it really bonds to the vinyl trim well. I painted a small area, let it dry and came back with my power washer on the highest pressure available. Didn’t budge the paint at all. Once the Fusion had fused to the vinyl, it was there forever. Covered nicely, sprays out of the can well, and I really liked using it. A great product!

I also used it to change a couple of window frames from aluminum to white, and it worked quite well also.
