Rustoleum Reflective Finish
Posted by Clark under General
I was reflecting the other day, thinking about my Finnish heritage when I saw a reflective finish, wait, this sounds like a real groaner coming on. Okay, seriously, this is cool paint! Reflective paint that goes on clear. You can just barely notice it during the day, but shine a headlight or bright light on it and bam, it reflects really well.
I painted the frame of my wife’s bike with it. (I’m going to do my bike next, but wanted to expirement on my wife’s bike first!) It’s got a totally black frame and was invisible at night. Now with headlights on it, it shines and stands out very well against a dark road. Makes me feel a lot better riding it now that the days are getting shorter and you’re more likely to get caught in low light. It would be great to paint on bike helmets as well. It’s clear and clearly easy to apply. As easy to use as any spray paint I highly recommend it for any item that you want to stand out in the dark.
Now, Jarod here has another use for it: He’s going to paint flames on his car. His idea is that you’ll see the flames only as the car comes across another car’s headlights. Flash the flames are there, then they’re gone! That’s actually sounds really fun and I can’t wait to see it if he really gets around to it.
Just another cool product whoes uses are only limited to ones imagination!

not that i’m condoning it but i’ve read you can use that paint to beat red light cameras by spraying it on your license plate. the flash from the camera lights up the reflective material in the paint thereby obscuring your license number. no license number, no place to mail the ticket for running the light.

Not that I am codoning it either, but I have heard the same. However hearing and actually not receiving a ticket may different things
